Maybe some ciphers or hash algorithms have changed or were disabled?ĬoID=: The user hhhh has started dialing a VPN connection using a per-user connection profile named hhhh. Win 10 Laptop from outside (WWAN) -> connection failed with 809 VPN Error, No error on Server thoughĪndroid mobile from within (WLAN) -> connection succeededĪdroind mobile from outside (WWAN) -> connection succeededĪs the connection from outside also succeeded from Win 10 latpop before update 1709 and the android still can connect from outside, I suspect the update as reason. Win 10 Laptop from withing LAN (WLAN) -> connection succeded I have checked the following connections: Unfortunately this did not change anything. Thank you for the detailed answer, I have gone through the guide and added the LAN Routing and NAT configuration. Also the port forwarding is working as i can connect via android phone. I have googled for hours and watched several L2TP howtos on YouTube, so I can say the server seems to be configured correctly and working fine. But there are no events logged on the server and the client reports an 809 error in the vpn client events. I have checked with Wireshark if any communication on those ports arrives at the server when connecting with the win 10 (1709) machine, and yes I have forwarded the ports 500, 17 in the router to the vpn server and also enabled the ESP protokol. Strange thing is, when I do this with my adroind mobile it works, via WLAN and WWAN. Only the WWAN connection from outside does not work. When I connect from withing the network (LAN or WLAN) everything works as expected. The setup: I have a Win 2016 Server with RRAS configured for L2TP PSK VPN. Now after the update I cannot connect anymore via mobile network. Before the fall creators update everything was working fine. For the username you must use your TweakNet login name and add to it at the end, for example Password is the same as you always use with your Tweaknews account.I am using an ultra book for mobile work and connect to my home network via VPN with an HSDPA WWAN modem. Share you country and Ip address in the comment below for other users.Īfter making connection with the server it will ask for the user name and password. To find out ip addresses for other country’s, run the Tweaknews app ones on a Windows desktop and check the nfig file. In this file you find on line 3 the Vpn server where you will connect to, in this case to the server in The Netherlands. To make it easier I have combined those 2 files to TweakNews.ovpn for easy importing the settings in Openvpn, you can download it below. The nfig and tweaknews.crt file are there, you don’t need more to get OpenVpn working. If you install the windows app all required info can be found in the c:\Program Files (x86)\TweakNews\OpenVPN\ directory. I did some “reverse” engineering with the Windows app and luckily they are using OpenVpn as base for the app. This post will only help you with the required OpenVpn files for Tweaknews. I’m not gone explain how to install OpenVpn on your device, there are enough tutorials on the net for the device you have to explain that. Not for Linux! Wtf, almost all Nas are running on Linux, routers are running on linux, Raspberry runs on Linux, etc… To use vpn they have a app for Windows, Android and Apple. TweakNews is a usenet provider that’s not that expensive and in some of there plans you have also the possibility to use vpn. This will make the work around as described below deprecated. ![]() In the support section there’s enough information to get your vpn running from Android, Linux, Mac and other devices. This provider support vpn connections from other devices then only windows. Tweaknews switched to another vpn provider, Privado.
